I first met Ladda at a certification ceremony in Espoo, where Thai massage business operators were celebrated by the Finnish Thai Association. Thanks to the invitation of its president, Vanritsi Tirkkonen, I had the chance to interview Ladda and hear her story.

Life in Finland and finnish language

I have been living and doing business in Finland for 5–6 years. I communicate primarily in English, but I can understand and assist in multiple languages, including Thai and Finnish, depending on what clients need.

Massage Therapist as a profession

Ladda works as a professional wellness and massage therapist. Her day-to-day focus is helping people understand body mechanics, relaxation, and wellness. She explains with professionalism: "Through continuous learning and interacting with various body types, experience builds deeper intuition, better tension-relief techniques, and a sharper understanding of chronic pain management. I have over 20 years of massage experience".

She approaches her clients with care and tailors treatments to individual needs: "Every body is unique," she says. "I always assess a client's current physical state, posture, and daily habits before tailoring a session specifically to their needs."

However, she finds that: "The biggest challenge is managing severe chronic pain cases where finding the exact trigger point requires immense physical and mental focus."

Ladda solves these challenges and builds successful practices. She is patient and an active listener. She continues: "Understanding what a client's body is telling you goes beyond just physical touch, she continues, "It requires tuning into their comfort levels. Ladda keeps treatment notes to help track progress, specific problem areas, and techniques that worked best during her previous sessions.

Ladda thinks it is important to keep strict professional boundaries. She clarifies: Absolute confidentiality, and empathetic communication are key and ensures that safety and mutual respect always come first.

She loves her job, and Ladda defines why: “The best part is seeing the instant relief and relaxation on a client’s face after they've released deep-seated tension." She reminisces: A truly memorable moment is when a client—who initially could not walk unaided due to injury or stress—leaves with a smile, completely free of pain, and feeling deeply relaxed.

Qualification to become a massage therapy

To practice professionally, a massage therapist typically completes a comprehensive vocational qualification in massage therapy (Koulutettu hieroja), involving thorough anatomical, physiological, and hands-on clinical training. Ladda believes massage therapy certification is essential. She concludes: “It represents not just legal authorization, but a commitment to safety, professional standards, and continuous learning."

Her future plans are to continue learning advanced myofascial release techniques while exploring holistic wellness trends to enhance her ability to serve clients. Laddan viesti

She ends this interview with a message: “Take care of your body—it’s the only place you have to live. Small daily habits of relaxation and self-care make a huge difference in long-term happiness.”
